What is Manfred?

Manfred is a domestically developed tech startup built by Sense/Net, the company that also launched Barion. Our first and largest franchise partner is Csepel Zrt., which also operates Bubi. The name Manfred is a tribute to Manfréd Weiss, one of the pioneers of Hungarian bicycle manufacturing.

Csepel is Hungary's most well-known bicycle manufacturer, with nearly a century of history. We can say that Csepel is BUBI's founding partner on the market side, and has been operating, developing, and learning the everyday realities of Budapest's public cycling scene from the very beginning. The cycling background behind Manfred is therefore not built from nothing.

We Give a Bike to Everyone

With Manfred you can rent a bike short, medium or long-term, and if you like it, you can buy it too. City bikes are available first in Budapest, while long-term rental is available nationwide.

Rental Bike

The Rental Bike is ideal for longer-term use, sightseeing, excursions and holidays. It can be rented for a daily fee, usually for no more than 10 days. We are currently looking for partners for daily rentals. Bike types can be found in the app.

Seasonal Bike

The Seasonal Bike is a full-season solution, for example from spring to autumn. A monthly fee arrangement for those who want a bike for months but don't want to commit for years. Available nationwide in the Manfred mobile app, with convenient pickup or delivery. Bike types can be found in the app.

Long-term Bike

The Long-term Bike is the ideal choice for long-term, everyday use. You can rent it for 24–36 months, for a monthly fee, with nationwide pickup or delivery. Basic assistance is included, and at the end of the term you can continue renting, switch to a new bike or even purchase it. Available nationwide in the Manfred mobile app. Bike types can be found in the app.

Own Bike

The Own Bike is for those who want to keep the bike, not just rent it. It can be purchased in a single payment, with nationwide pickup or delivery, and assistance can be added on request. Available nationwide in the Manfred mobile app. Bike types can be found in the app.

City Bike

2,000 traditional and 500 e-bikes are available for per-minute rental at 400 locations across Budapest, with monthly or annual passes as well. With a monthly pass, the bikes can be used for free for a period of time. The pass valid for traditional bikes costs HUF 2,500, while the combined pass also valid for e-bikes is HUF 5,000 / month. An annual pass can be purchased for the price of 10 monthly passes. A bank card is required for payment, managed by Barion.
